SIKKIM VIKLANG SAHAYATA SAMITI (SVSS) HAS ORGANIZED A FREE OPERATION CAMP.

Sikkim Viklang Sahayata Samiti (SVSS) has organized a free operation camp for the patients of Cleft Lip Plate and Burn Cases in collaboration with Smile Train of Agra on 16th September 2011 to 22nd September 2011 at Sikkim Manipal Hospital Tadong. Human Resource Development Department Minister Mr. N.K.Pradhan chaired the programme as the Chief Guest and was accompanied by Secretary Health cum Director General Health Services Dr. Kumar Bhandari, Dr. Satya Saraswat, Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon and Dr. Mahajan from Agra, Dr. Shamser Singh Medical Superintendent of Central Referral Hospital Manipal Tadong, Miss Droupadi Ghimiray President Sikkim Viklang Shayata Samiti as a guest of honour in the inaugural function of the programme.
Dr. Shamser Singh address the function with his welcome speech followed by a brief highlighting of the activities carried out so far by Sikkim Viklang Sahayata Samiti (SVSS) by Mr. Tempo Bhutia, life member of SVSS. Dr. Satya Saraswat highlighted the over all condition of plastic surgery, clips, lips and burn cases in India. Dr. Satya in his speech also presented the detailed report of the number of operations carried out by him in Agra totaling around to1600 cases all over India among which 50 cases were from Sikkim. The team of doctors along with the guests and the SVSS members also met with the patients present for the operation. A total of 56 patients were registered out of which 40 patients were admitted. Free medicines for the patients with burn cases were provided by NHPC Teesta (V).
Minister Mr. N.K.Pradhan and Dr. Kumar Bhandari in their speech welcomed and applauded the works done by SVSS and wished for a successful operation of the patients. The programme for day one concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Bela Cintury, life member of SVSS. Also present during the programme were Mrs. Mamta Thapa, Project Director SSA, HRDD, Shri B.K.Cintury and Shri P. Shrestha, life member of SVSS.
