The Tourism Department of Sikkim has come up with various adventure sports in order to promote tourism in the state. Among various, paragliding is one of the best that Sikkim can offer. With the increase in number of vehicles and road accidents in the recent years, the Motor vehicle Department and Sikkim Traffic Police has has come up with various Acts and policies to prevent more accidents in the state. Recently, Road Safety Week was observed jointly by Sikkim traffic Police and Motor vehicle Department in order to bring awareness among the general public of the State. When we look in our State only, according to survey, 75% of accidents are caused due to the negligence of driver. But on the other hand, drivers of Sikkim are much more aware of traffic rules as compared to other states in India. Sikkim Traffic Police, in order to bring awareness among the students has come up with a policy of forming a Road Safety Patrol consisting of 20-30 member students from each school.
