Requite my love

Beautifully gifted thou art goddess;
My heart yearns, for picking a glimpse,
You the fairy fair, winsome lady,
As to bind thy love and mine to eternity.

Ye the pure heart, your heart so sweet,
As darkness fall I need no light but thee,
You shall complete me in kindness and love,
Your name renders peace in my formless soul.
In my inner soul your name resonates,
Yet I can't live in the strength of echoes,
Embrace me, in your sweetest heart,
Take me, touch my heart, ye my bosom friend.

Oh brightest star, you are so lovely,
Take, fill me in, take me into your heart,
Requite my love ye the divine fairy,
Take me by your friend to the heavenly bliss.

Some other sources also list uses of kite for measuring distances, testing of direction of winds and signaling for military operations. It has its own story and carries its own significance from places to places. In India , the kite further evolved into the fighter kite known as the “Patang”. Here, the annual kite running competitions are held every year on the day of Makar Sankranti. Kite festivals are held at different countries, which is of ritual significance for the people of the respective countries. Now coming back to our state Sikkim , I often wonder and look back to the day when I was a kid.
